Multiple Audio & Microphone Input Ways of ADCaster C1
COMICA ADCaster C1 audio interface is small, portable, and easy to operate while supporting multiple audio and microphone inputs. Now let's check how it inputs diversified audio.
External Audio Input Ways
The ADCaster C1 audio interface has four ways to input external audio: Bluetooth input, 3.5mm AUX input, USB input, and 3.5mm TRRS input of OUT1/OUT2. The AUX knob only works on Bluetooth and 3.5mm AUX input. So it is recommended to use Bluetooth or 3.5mm AUX input for external audio such as background music.
When using Bluetooth to input external audio, turn on the Bluetooth switch on the right side of the audio interface first. When the Bluetooth indicator light is flashing, it enters the pairing state. Turn on the phone's settings and enter the Bluetooth settings, then search "Comica_ADCaster C1" to connect.
When using the 3.5mm AUX interface to input external audio, if the playing device is a smartphone or a laptop computer, users can use the equipped 3.5mm TRRS-TRRS audio cable to connect. If the playing device is an MP3 or a desktop computer, then users need to prepare a 3.5mm TRS-TRS audio cable to connect the playing device and the C1 audio interface.
When the external audio is played, the monitor audio dynamic bar will flash accordingly. The volume of the external audio can be adjusted on the playing device or through the AUX knob.
Microphone Input Ways
The ADCaster C1 audio interface has two 3.5mm audio input ports IN1/IN2 and a USB-C port that can be converted into two XLR interfaces. Users can choose different input interfaces according to the microphone they use.
When used with the STA-X2S studio microphone, it needs the equipped 3.5mm-XLR audio cable to connect the X2S microphone and the C1 audio interface. The 3.5mm plug is connected to the IN1/IN2 of the C1 audio interface, and the XLR plug is connected to the X2S microphone.
When used with a wireless microphone, it needs to connect the wireless microphone receiver to the C1 audio interface through the 3.5mm TRS-TRS audio cable that comes with the wireless microphone. And the microphone needs to be adjusted to mono mode. Otherwise, it may cause no sound when only one transmitter is used. When used with a shotgun microphone, a 3.5mm TRS-TRS audio cable is also required.
The C1 audio interface is equipped with two 3.5mm TRRS-TRRS audio cables, which are designed to output audio to mobile phones, tablets, and laptops. There may be compatibility issues when connecting to wireless microphones.
When connecting a microphone with an XLR interface, users need to connect the USBC-XLR adapter cable to C1 audio interface first and then connect the XLR end to the microphone. The INPUT knob of the C1 audio interface is also the switch for the 48V phantom power supply. Make sure to turn off the 48V phantom power supply before connecting the microphone to avoid damage to the microphone.
If the XLR microphone is a dynamic microphone, it does not need the 48V phantom power. When connecting a condenser microphone that requires phantom power, please ensure that the cable is connected in place before turning on the phantom power. If the C1 audio interface is far away from the microphone, users can connect the USBC-XLR cable to the XLR cable first, and then connect the microphone to the XLR cable.
The C1 audio interface has two gain knobs to adjust the input gain of the two microphones. INPUT1 knob adjusts the gain of 3.5mm IN1 and XLR input 1, and the INPUT2 knob adjusts the gain of 3.5mm IN2 and XLR input 2.
When adjusting the gain, the mic audio dynamic bar will indicate the current gain level. The greater the gain, the greater the volume of the microphone. After adjustment, the audio dynamic bar will flash according to the input volume. When the streamer speaks normally, if the dynamic bar flashes to the intersection of the blue and orange indicator lights, the volume at this time is most appropriate.
