Differences Between Gain & Volume

Do you think that gain and volume are the same things? After all, when you turn up or down the gain, the sound you hear will become louder or lower. This seems the same as when the volume is turned up or down. Gain and volume are two similar but different concepts. Let's make it clear today!

Gain

Gain is a measure of the input of a system. It controls the level or strength of the signal sent through the audio system.

For example, when you rotate the stepless gain control on STM-USB/Traxshot, you make the audio louder or quieter by changing the tone of the sound input to STM-USB/Traxshot.

Volume means a measure of the output of an audio system. It controls the loudness after the sound passes through the system.

For instance, when you turn down the volume of the BoomX-D/BoomX-U, you are lowering the loudness of the sound output from BoomX-D/BoomX-U. And volume adjustment does not change the tone of the sound.

In Summary
